BevWhat is the difference between storimg and besieging a castle?? Could you storm a castle today??
GordonStorming means to rush, so everyone would rush in, or over the walls and try to overcome by speed or weight of numbers. Beseiging means to camp around the perimiter, preventing anyone from coming or going. This stops supplies of food getting in, and can eventually lead to a choice of surrender or starvation for those inside.
As for today, I refer you back to my previous reply and your imagination.

MerlinWhy would you want to storm a castle today? It's not a question of possibility, because there are no defenders left (maybe some angry dogs ...) and the gates at most castles are wide open during daytime. So you would only storm in to earn the laughter of the visiting tourists. Well, I must confess that I also played that game a lot when I was a small boy, me and my friends fighting with wooden sticks on the walls of many ruined castles.

Ah, those were the days...

BevSo would it be legal to storm a castle???
Fox AtreidesDepends on what you intend to do with it lol

The world can be as you want, when you are as the world wants you.

BevIt is for a school proect! This place is like a mortuary.
Erik SchmidtBev,
Storming a closed castle today to gain entry without permission of the owner is basically break and enter. So, no, it wouldn't be legal.
Storming has never been a legal(rightfull) act, but an act of war, rebellion or seizure.
Legally today, a castle would be no different to any other public or private building.

Erik
